10392NAT Course in emergency asthma management

This course is specifically designed to promote the standard emergency management protocols for dealing with an asthma emergency, and raise participant’s knowledge about the underlying causes of asthma, the triggers, and the recognition and treatment of asthma.

Course content includes but not limited to:

  • Identifying the signs and symptoms of mild, moderate or severe attacks
  • Reducing or managing allergens
  • Providing first aid management of an asthma attack
    • Reassuring the casualty
    • The resources and equipment required to assist the casualty
    • Action plans, puffers and spacers
    • Calling for assistance
    • Communicating the details of the incident
  • Monitoring of the patient
  • Asthma first aid kits
